Are You Serving Your Audience?

I’ve been missing the last few weeks. Yes, it’ true!

On the first weekend of March, I headed to my granddaughter’s birthday party in Austin and then off to El Salvador to work at our SHIP Foundation.

Mid-week in El Salvador, I was invited to speak at a Homeschool Summit that would start in less than 5 days. What in the world? What’s going on? Corona Virus sent most kids who attend school back home. Why should this matter to you, as a blogger or online business owner?

Read on . . .

In my response to the Summit organizer, I wrote, “I’m glad I have an online business”.

I can still work, no matter where I am. If I have to stay home, no big deal. I continue working and making money. I had no idea what was happening here in the states. I was busy looking for flights home because United cancelled all our flights back to Houston. I wasn’t keeping up with all that was happening here.

The Summit organizer wrote me back, saying two of the major homeschool organizations have cancelled 5-7 upcoming, live conferences. Wow! In less than one week, events across the nation were shut down. I thank God my business continues because it’s not dependent on face-to-face transactions.

Last week alone, I received a single affiliate check for $650.34. It’s not huge, but those affiliate checks add up to pay bills. Even if I can’t leave my home.

If there was ever a time to get started blogging or hosting your online business, it is NOW! Can you see the writing on the wall?

People are afraid to go outside. Afraid to shake hands. Afraid to hug their friends. Afraid to touch the credit card machine at the store. My friends are ordering groceries to be delivered to their home. Or picking up curbside. All done through the internet.

I would never want to take advantage of a situation, but I believe online businesses will continue to grow over the next few weeks.

Are you ready? Are you serving your audience?

Before I close, let me say this.

I’m not encouraging you to be sleezy or salesy at this time. It’s a time to HELP your clients, readers & customers. Provide information and help to get through a difficult situation.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing with my homeschool audience. I quickly recorded my workshop, From Classroom to Home-room: Secrets from a Former Public School Teacher turned Homeschool Mom. Through March 24, all my homeschoolers (& potential homeschoolers) can watch it for free. Along with 50+ other workshops.

If they don’t have time to watch all 50+ workshops before March 24, they can buy lifetime access for $12. That’s less than it costs to buy pizza for my family. It’s affordable! I’m here to serve my audience with excellent information & resources.

Are you serving your audience?

In addition to serving, I’m also making a profit from each person who invests in the $12 lifetime access through my affiliate commission.
